Foster with Us
Every day, incredible dogs sit in shelters waiting for someone to give them a chance. By opening your home, you give a shelter dog the opportunity to decompress, build confidence, and show the world who they truly are.
And when one dog leaves the shelter...
Another kennel becomes available for the next dog in need. Why Fostering Matters
The greatest need in animal rescue isn't more organizations. It's more foster homes.
Rescues across the Carolinas are ready to provide veterinary care, transportation, and adoption support. What they often don't have is somewhere for dogs to go while they wait.
That's where you come in.
What We Provide
We want fostering to be as easy as possible. Our shelter partners and rescue partners provide:
- 🐾 Food
- 🐾 Crate, leash, and collar
- 🐾 Veterinary care
- 🐾 Medications (if needed)
- 🐾 Ongoing community support throughout the foster period
What Does a Foster Do?
As a foster, you'll provide a safe, temporary home while a dog waits for adoption or transfer to one of our rescue partners.
- • Providing a safe place to sleep
- • Feeding and caring for the dog each day
- • Helping them build confidence and trust
- • Sharing updates and photos so we can find the best possible home
How Long Will I Foster?
Every dog is different.
Some stay for only a few days before transport.
Others need several weeks or months before they're ready for adoption.
Expectations will always be discussed before placing a dog with you.
The Impact You Make
Behind every adoption, there's almost always a foster.
A dog who learns to trust again.
A family who gets to see that dog's true personality.
A shelter kennel that becomes available for the next dog waiting for help.
That's the power of fostering.
